Choy Sum

 Storage Tips

  • Store in plastic bag or sealed container in refrigerator. The choy sum is the flowering part of the plant, and should be consumed quickly after harvest for best quality, ideally within three days.

Culinary Tips

  • Best stir-fried with garlic and sesame oil and salt! Make sure to take care to not overcook choy sum as the leaves are very tender.

  • Cook until the color is a bright, vivid green and the stalks can be pierced by a fork but still have a good crunch.

  • Fabulous is broth based soups and many other Chinese recipes.
