Garlic
Storage Tips
Store in a cool, dark, dry place in your home. A pantry cabinet or in a wooden crate in a closet can be good options. You can also store in the refrigerator. Keep storage temperature stable—meaning if you store in the fridge, don’t then move out to the cabinet and expect for the garlic to store well, sudden temperature changes can cause sprouting.
Culinary Tips
The taste of garlic changes drastically depending on how you cut it. For instance, try smashing your garlic cloves (carefully) with the side of a knife and then mincing for a very rich savory flavor. Slicing the garlic clove thinly makes the taste much more mild, grating it on a microplane makes it very spicy and sweet, etc. Experiment with different ways of cutting your garlic, and always pay close attention to what preparation a recipe calls for, because it will change the flavor dramatically.
