Leeks

 Storage Tips

  • Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a month in the right conditions. keep sealed in a plastic bag without moisture.

Culinary Tips

  • Cut off the roots and the green tops, and focus on cutting up the tender white stalk.

  • Leeks are in the onion family and can be used in any dish as you would use an onion. When cooked, leeks often impart more onion flavor into a dish than your regular old onion, so adding leeks to a dish can really make a dish more flavorful.

  • Our favorite things to do with leeks is roast a bunch of root veggies with 1’ thinck slices of leek mixed in. The leeks will become buttery and tender, and caramelized in amongst the root veggies and adds so much to the dish. We also love adding leeks to frittatas, shepherd’s pie, potato-leek soup and many more.
