Turnips

 Storage Tips

  • Store in a plastic bag in refrigerator for up to two months.

Culinary Tips

  • Peel skin, as it can be bitter and sometimes tough. Purple top turnips can have a zesty flavor and add incredibly silky and creamy textures to recipes like soups and purees. We love tossing them in oil and grated garlic and rosemary and roasting until crispy in a 400 degree oven, or adding to stews in the winter to add a lot of flavor to a dish. Try adding to mashed potatoes for fantastic texture, or layer into a cheesy gratin. When in doubt, add cubed turnips into a root vegetable medley and roast until fork tender in the oven.
